This field looks very different from the last time we walked through it when the sweetcorn was high.
Some clever people in our village have made leaflets detailing 16 walks, varying in miles from 3.5 to 7. This one was 4.5 miles - just a nice amount before cooking a scrummy roastie dinner!
The stream was running fast
Catkins hanging like little green tails
This Mole Town is obviously busy! Then we headed downhill to a swampy, foresty bit (very Lord of the Rings!)
Even though this looked like a tree graveyard, there were green shoots all around - nature is amazing isn't it?
It was a very interesting walk - time to chat and clear the head, to be together, which lord knows is sometimes quite hard in a busy, bustly house - time to reflect on our nearly 31 years together, yes a special time♥.
Speak soon xx
You're not the only person who is sniffing the air over there and thinking of Spring. I'm hearing it all around the blogs so it must be in the air.
ReplyDeleteLovely walk. That is one of the things we love about England and we are very much looking forward to doing some walking on our holiday. Sorry we won't be in your area this time. It would be nice to meet wouldn't it? Perhaps next time...... or perhaps you might come over here one day although at the moment the weather is doing awful things down here!
Cheers
Helen
Lovely photos of a beautiful walk. I love to bring my Husband along on my dog-walks to see how Spring is approaching. I too, noticed mole hills all along the river bank this morning, I wonder if the soil warming up is making the little velvetty chaps more active?
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen and Kath, Helen, I hope the weather doesn't affect you too much, poor Australia is getting a real weather bashing lately! Kath, I think you may be right those sweet velvetty moles must be noticing a warmer soil!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful peaceful time - it looks great
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of a very nice walk.
ReplyDeleteI love such walks, they're good for body and mind!
I felt as though I was doing the walk with you Kim. I think we are all longing for a bit of spring weather. We are lucky though!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove Suex
What a lovely walkabout.
ReplyDeleteHi Kimbles, I have come to visit you from Alison's blog and I am so glad I did! I have enjoyed reading your lovely posts, looking at a part of the country I have never been to, finding another decopatcher :0) I love it! Your crocheted blanket is lovely and I am determined to try your tutorial for "join as you go" - I have never been able to fathom out how to do this. I am really pleased to have found you .... and so I don't lose you .... I shall add you to my blogroll :0)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day ..... btw I have one of those gorgeous gloves too! Perhaps you could crochet a daisy and stitch it on to make it more attractive?
love and thanks for sharing,
Val xx Oxfordshire
